The sculpture is signed on the back “Marin”.
Jacques Marin studied at the Brussels Academy from 1889 to 1906. He took part in various competitions and earned several awards. Jacques Marin’s sculpting talent was quickly recognised. He had a taste for portraying female figures. Later in life he became director at the Academy of Tienen.
