The Peugeot 304 was introduced in September of 1969 as a new middle range model. The car was largely based on the 204. The front of the car looked like the front of the larger 504. In 1970, Peugeot released a convertible and a coupé. Thereafter, Peugeot introduced a break model and a delivery van (fourgonnette).
A total of 1,178,423 copies of the Peugeot 304 were built, of which 849,102 sedans, 216,183 breaks, 34,304 fourgonnettes, 18,647 convertibles and 60,186 coupés.
The production of the sedan ended in July 1979, the brake and fourgonnette were produced until May of 1980. The production of the coupé and convertible came to a halt in 1975. The car came with a 1300 cc engine, also available in a more powerful version (the “S” versions), a 1357 cc diesel engine was later added to the range.
Nowadays, the convertibles are especially popular among collectors. The break and sedan models have mostly disappeared, the small Peugeot was quite susceptible to corrosion, even more so when they were equipped with a sliding roof. These cars were very reliable technically. Its cooling system was however a weak point.
If applicable, sent carefully packaged with track and trace code.
