Very nice watercolour by Jan Korthals including frame. The work is from the period that he worked in Paris. The watercolour is in good condition, however the mat has discoloured, see photos (the photos are part of the description). Framed by a professional framer A.J. Heijdenrijk Jr. Jan Korthals was a famous Amsterdam painter (1916-1972) who worked in the Impressionist style. The style of Korthals was strongly influenced by his great examples, Breitner and Mackenzie. The latter was also the uncle of Korthals and played a vital role in his life. The work of Korthals covers mostly cityscapes, with notably Amsterdam and Paris.
