Moto Guzzi - Galletto 160cc - 1950
The four-stroke 175 cc scooter known as the "Galletto" was designed by the founder of the company, Carlo Guzzi, who decided to combine the advantages of a high-wheel bike with those of a scooter, eliminating the drawbacks of both. The "Galletto" sold well because it provided driver protection, ease of use, and a spare tire - mounted between the front wheel and the front frame, it was and extra to be bought separately - all characteristics of a simple scooter, mixed with the comfort and the road holding performance of a motorcycle.
The prototype was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1950 and was immediately a great success, thanks to its qualities of comfort and durability. Presented with a 150cc engine size, he was sold on the market with a 160cc displacement.
