Beautiful Burco semi transport bicycle. made in Amsterdam Restored. Like new. Burco was a Dutch bicycle manufacturer. Frans van Buuren and A. Wijnschenk founded the bicycle factory F. van Buuren & Co. on February 1, 1939 and started to produce Burco bikes. In the years after WWII, Burco was a medium-sized bicycle factory, producing 20,000 bicycles a year during their heydays. The factory had the honour to deliver duty bicycles to the police during the 1970s. In 1988, the production facility was almost entirely abolished and Burco has the frames produced in Aalten, at the van Raam company. The wholesale was established in Amsterdam and the bikes are only being assembled there. On January 1, 2005, The Amsterdam branch was closed and the last Amsterdam bicycle factory was history.
