André Derain - Big Ben - Fauves
This is a lithograph created after a painting by André Derain in 1905 titled "Big Ben."
The painting depicts buildings in London, such as the famous bell tower "Big Ben".
This painting is a great example of Fauvism which can be seen by Derain’s use of primary colours.
In the painting you will see each of his brush strokes that distorts the reality and allows air and water to look like they are moving.
What I love about this painting is how it can be interpreted as day or night because of the use of intense colours.
Signed in the lithographic stone.
From the portfolio Fauves.
Edition: 1000 copies. The lithographs have not been numbered, the Fauves folder has the name of the customer/buyer on it.
In this folder were various lithographs by well-known artists, including Kees van Dongen, André Derain, Vlaminck etc.
The lithograph has the dimensions of: 49.5 x 41.5 cm
Paper size: 78.2 x 62.2 cm.
Printed by Mourlot - Paris on Arches paper, see watermark.
This lithograph is in excellent condition, and we want to keep it that way during shipping, that’s why it will be sent flat.
