Austin - Seven Special - 1929

Austin Seven Special - 1929 in 1985 I bought the car in Amsterdam from an Englishman. The car with license plate DV2327 was on name of William Alderton. The Vehicle Registration Document (dated 1981) is in my possession. In April 1985, I have imported the car in the Netherlands. After approval by the Rijksdienst voor Wegverkeer I got the badge NJ-56-RS. Chassis number A 75469. I have asked Bill Alderton about features and specialities of the car. In April 1985, I got a letter from Mr Alderton with the following information: Quote I built the car about 3 years ago and having a lot of trouble with Austin 7 engines, I decided to fit a Reliant engine. As you may know the 750 Motor club run a class for racing with Reliant Austins. The chassis is about 1933 – it was a Ruby Saloon originally. The body is a copy of the original Gordon England “BROOKLANDS” Austin, which were sold with a guarantee to have reached 75 MPH at the Brooklands Track. The engine in your car was taken from a single seater racing car and reached 120 MPH on Silverstone. Your car got an award in the North Heants Rally run by the 750 Motor Club as an Austin Special. Unquote The engine number is 115 218 B60. I myself have not restored the car. In 1986 until the 1990s together with my wife I have driven it in Belgium in fun rallies. See the pictures of the rally signs. In 1997 the engine was overhauled. This year (2017) is the clutch pump of the hydraulic clutch was renewed and the engine checked. There is a small oil leak between the engine and the gearbox. I have a book where the Austin Seven is extensively described, this book is a book of Cris Harvey and The Austin Seven – the motor for the million 1922-1939 by R.J. Wyatt All documents: Vehicle Registration Document, Test Certificate, Letter Bill Alderton, Test report invoice revision engine, original license plates, book by Chris Harvey and R.J. Wyatt are included. This vehicle can be picked up and viewed in Vlissingen, Netherlands.
