Japanese Kabuto With Maedate - Helmet of Samurai Armor - Edo Period - 17th/18th century
Japanese iron kabuto (helmet) that is a part of Yoroi (Samurai Armor). This kabuto was made in 17th or 18th century in Japan. It was made from 18 iron pilates that are connected to each other. Fukigaeshi is decorated with Nakagawa family crest (mon). Kabuto and shikoro are painted with the same brown/black makie. Maedate is made of wood and painted gold (made in 20th century).
Condition: Item is in reasonable condition. In some spots urushi is missing and in others it peals of a bit. But overall these are small things that add to it's looks.
